Downtown Action Alliance
Downloads
The Muscatine Downtown Action Alliance was formed after a series of meetings between downtown merchants, professionals, residents, developers, and other interested parties who wanted to make positive changes for the benefit and growth of the downtown area. It was decided that the GDMA (Greater Downtown Merchant Association) would be dissolved and that this new organization would take its place.
The Mission of the Downtown Action Alliance is to contribute to the positive growth and overall well being of Downtown Muscatine. This will be accomplished through supporting and promoting downtown businesses and events, improving the appearance of building facades and preserving the history so prominent in our community By definition: The “core” downtown is considered to be the area from the riverfront on the south to 4th Street on the north. Its eastern boundary is Mulberry Avenue and its western boundary is Pine Street. The general downtown “area” extends the eastern boundary to Mad Creek and the northern boundary on Mulberry Avenue to 6th Street. Intent: To make Downtown Muscatine the town center where we live, work, celebrate, play, gather and shop. A parallel goal is to be a “destination”; a tourist draw. The heart of our community. Special ThanksTo GMCCI for allowing the use of many of the beautiful pictures found on this site.
